DESCRIPTIONS OF DIFFERENT TRAINING REGIMES
AQUA AEROBIC
This is a classic water aerobics session in which varied rhythmic movement and dancelike step combinations are used. Additional equipment will be used to further burden muscles in order to develop endurance and strength.
AQUA TONE
A session with the main focus on muscle training in the water. Various different training aids are used: water noodles, balls, dumbbells, tubes, etc.
Different movements from martial arts are used (e.g. punches and kicks) with special boxing gloves as training aids.
DEEP WATER
A training session that uses special belts to perform exercises in deep water. The belts help to maintain correct posture, increase the field of movement and to perform more powerful movements.
WITH CHILD
Water aerobics for pregnant women.
WATER-RUNNING
The aim of this training session is to run or walk in water so that feet would not touch the bottom. Water-running does not require specific techniques because running in water does not differ from running on ground. The participants have a special deep water belt attached to their waist that keeps the body above water. Water-running suits everybody because due to the cooling effect of the water, the heart's pulse rate will not peak and because movement in water does not overburden joints. This method of training is effective for losing weight because the burning of fats begins immediately as the body has to work to maintain its normal temperature.
AQUA INTERVAL
Water aerobics is where high intensity exercises or combinations of exercises alternate with less intensive workout (recuperation). The duration, frequency and intensity of exercises is determined and controlled by the instructor. Effort + recuperation = 1 interval cycle. This is an effective endurance training regime in water.
