MAJOR UPDATES! The 50-meter pool has received new lane dividers and starting blocks!
In recent weeks, significant changes have taken place at Kalev Spa’s water park.
All lane dividers in the 50-meter pool have been replaced with new, modern ones. Additionally, the starting blocks in the deeper section of the pool have been updated.
The aim of the renovation is to enhance the technical standards of the facility and to provide an even better swimming experience for visitors and athletes training with us.
Why are lane dividers necessary?
Reducing water movement and turbulence:
The new lane dividers are designed to reduce the turbulence caused by swimmers’ movements. This means that waves no longer disturb other swimmers or affect their speed. The dividers absorb and disperse waves, offering calmer water for all swimmers.
Clear marking and safety:
The lane dividers clearly mark the boundaries of each lane, helping swimmers maintain their direction and avoid drifting into adjacent lanes. This is especially important in fast-paced races and for technically demanding strokes, such as butterfly and backstroke.
Smooth turns:
Properly placed lane dividers help swimmers better judge the lane’s width and the distance from the pool’s edges, which is crucial for executing precise and smooth turns.
Facilitating referees' work in competitions:
Accurately marked lane dividers make it easier for referees to perform their duties during competitions. With clearly marked buoys, referees can observe whether swimmers surface at the right moment.
Fairer conditions:
When lanes are well-separated and the effect of turbulence is minimized, all swimmers enjoy fairer conditions, ensuring that results are influenced only by the athletes' skills and techniques, without external factors.
Psychological support for swimmers:
Clear and stable lane dividers help swimmers focus entirely on their performance without the constant worry of drifting off course.
Come and try it out for yourself!
